Brunello di Montalcino 2015
Castiglion del Bosco is one of the twenty-five founding members of the Brunello di Montalcino Consortium created in 1967.
The reputation of this winemaker’s Brunello di Montalcino soon moved beyond the borders of the Val d’Orcia to establish itself internationally. In the glass it is of a ruby red colour with a touch of garnet. The Capanna vineyard, located north-west of Montalcino, offers a complex, refined nose with notes of cherry, blackberry, blackcurrant, vanilla, cinnamon, balsamico, leather and spices. Initially apparently easy on the palate, it unfolds to reveal excellent structure; it is intense, soft, balanced, and has a moderate freshness.
The finish is long and exciting in a way that only a young, aristocratic and introspective Sangiovese can be.
