The grapes that bring this emblematic wine to life are Corvina, Rondinella, Oseleta and Croatina but only grapes harvested from vineyards that are at least ten years old are destined for the Amarone. This wine is also distinguished by how long the grapes are dried for – three months, double the usual duration for Valpolicella. The result is a truly exciting explosion of power and elegance.
The ruby colour that tends towards an intense an decisive deep purple portends character, as if to prepare one for an experience that will leave its mark… Complex aromatic notes surface in the nose, scents that evoke black cherries, blueberries, but also chocolate, coffee and tobacco. On the palate, the taste is extraordinary, confirming all of the olfactory sensations that have been anticipated – but it still astonishes with a final sumptuous and persistent finish that encompasses notes of truffles, tobacco and leather.
