Frank Cornelissen
“Nature is too complex to be understandable to man, so it must be supported.” This could sum up Frank Cornelissen’s winemaking philosophy, or rather the assumption on which he bases his “non-interventionist” approach, both in vineyard and in cellar.
The company dates back to 2001, in “unsuspecting” times compare to the fame and notoriety that Etna will acquire in the years to come: this is 22 hectares of vineyards (all old vines, mostly ungrafted) in the north-eastern valley , between 600 and 1,000 meters above sea level, 13 cultivated with Alberello sixth and 9 with modern rows, interspersed with another 2 hectares of olive trees, fruit trees and woods. A “Gravnerian” conception of the insertion of the vine within a complete ecosystem of floral and fauna varieties, aimed to minimize the intervention in vineyard. Therefore even low density plants, no rootstock and yields between 300 and 600 grams per plant.
Uncompromising quality.
