Giovanni Rosso
“The wine must be the perfect copy of its Terroir”, identifying phrase of the Giovanni Rosso winery.
We are located in Serralunga d’Alba, in Piedmont, Giovanno Rosso is one of the historic wineries in the area that has contributed to the fame of Nebbiolo. For over a hundred years the winery has cultivated around 10 hectares of vineyards, the result of a very careful selection of some of the most important crus of Barolo, including the famous Vignarionda with which the iconic Barolo Ester Canale is produced.
The vineyards are spread across different areas, to give greater identity and personality to each wine produced. They can boast the ownership of some of the most famous vineyards, destined for the production of Nebbiolo and also Barbera: Cerretta, La Serra, Broglio, Meriame, Sorano, Costa Bella, Lirano and Damiano.
Today we find the fourth generation in the family, led since 2001 by Davide Rosso, an oenologist with international experience, who upon taking over designs a cellar inspired by the Bordeaux chateaux. Davide decides to make a change by no longer using pesticides and herbicides, only indigenous yeasts in the cellar. Wines are born that are the perfect expression of the territory, of great elegance and longevity.
Giovanni Rosso is therefore one of the points of reference of this territory, capable of standing out for its absolute excellence.
