Descrizione

It originates on somewhat higher ground than Casa maté, about 200 meters higher, and has distinctly tuffaceous and sandy soil.

The setting of this wine is also very different as it is Elio Grasso’s barolo that stands out for its elegance and finesse, also more ready to be drunk in the immediate aftermath.

“Traditionalist” maturation in large Slavonian oak barrels, lasting about two years, to support but not condition the organoleptic spontaneity of this cru.

On the nose The bouquet is very complex, an initial impression of plum and violet is accompanied by balsamic suggestions of eucalyptus and licorice, the latter of which is also immediately reflected in the mouth. On the palate we are surprised by a certain freshness, tannins already in perfect balance and a good savoriness that allow this barolo to tie in best with even the most daring pairings.

Great now and even better in fifteen years or so if stored properly.
