Descrizione

Vineyard class of 1982, Ginestra Casa Maté is the oldest cru in the Elio Grasso house and perhaps the one that best represents it.

From rich, clayey soil in the Ginestra area, 300-350 meters above sea level, vineyards about forty years old, the grapes are harvested a little earlier than in the other two crus and need optimal ripeness to give their best. Fermentation, maceration and malolactic fermentation in steel, then moving on to age in the traditional way in large Slavonian oak barrels (25 hectoliters) for more than two years and another 8-10 months in the bottle before being put on the market.

A muscular wine with great personality: a bouquet of ripe fruit and balsamic references prepares for an explosion of acidity on the palate, a precise, long and balanced flavor…

…And with time it can only get better! Che barolo!
