This vintage is the symbol of the Castello Nipozzano, and dates back to 1983. It is the product of the homonymous vineyard planted in 1976. The Frescobaldi were already cultivating Cabernet Sauvignon here 150 years ago, alongside the Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Created in the Super Tuscan style in Chianti country, Mormoreto is a great, structured red, produced only during the best years to guarantee its excellence.

In the glass this wine presents itself with a ruby-red colour with dashes of purple. The bouquet is captivating and reveals itself slowly: first there are floral and fruity notes –bergamot, blackberry and cassis. This is followed by tertiary notes of spices like vanilla, roasted notes and a light woody finish. The sip is elegant and fruity in the first instance, but once swallowed it reveals all of its exuberant power, with tannins that are soft but clearly perceptible – the glyeric note accentuates its length and persistence. This is a wine with a vibrant and passionate character that manages to express refinement and harmony in its complexity.
