Descrizione

A historic bottle that has distinguished the Conterno winery for many years now, ever since the 14 hectares of Cascina Francia in the commune of Serralunga d’Alba, 11 of which are now dedicated to Barolo and Riserva Monfortino, were purchased and planted back in 1974. From that moment began the story of the Conterno growers, landowners and far-sighted entrepreneurs who made the fortune of Barolo in the world.

An iconic, sought-after wine, appreciated worldwide for its complexity and breadth, thickness and noble texture.

The cru of Serralunga is historically peculiar, generating austere wines that need time to smooth out their power but already conveying a clear elegance and finesse linked to a great balance that only skilled and experienced hands like Roberto Conterno’s allow to guarantee, vintage after vintage.

The tasting is a thrilling experience that is not easily forgotten, right from the behavior of the wine in the goblet, the protagonist of a dance that indulges the roundness of the crystal by drawing bows with perfect concavity.

The nose immediately unleashes its breadth, ranging from hints of cherry to red forest fruits such as currants, from underbrush to autumn leaves, from leather to toasted notes that overlap with a sweet spice.

In the mouth powerful, immediate, vertical but undoubtedly elegant and fascinating, absolutely fine and pleasantly prolonged, with a finish that accompanies the taster for a long time to come.
