Descrizione

The microclimate of the area is unique: the presence of the mountains and the distance from the coast leads to a reduced humidity rate, strong ventilation, high temperature range between day and night. The optimal conditions for harvesting excellent grapes.

The Montepulciano Riserva A Marianna from the Praesidium company comes from the grapes of the oldest vineyards, which are now over 50 years old, at around 400 m above sea level, on alluvial soil therefore rich in clay, stones and rocks.
Grapes harvested by hand during the first half of October, brought to the cellar in small boxes to keep them intact. Pressing and vinification with spontaneous fermentation in steel, where it remains to mature for 24 months. Then it ages for approximately another 40 months in Slavonian oak barrels and French tonneaux. Further 6 months of rest in the bottle and the wine goes on the market. In the cellar there is minimal use of sulphites and chemical products and the wine is not filtered.

When tasted, this Montepulciano d’Abruzzo has an intense ruby red color with garnet nuances, on the nose a rich bouquet of ripe red fruits and dark fruit, withered flowers, accompanied by spicy and balsamic notes, also light nuances of leather and undergrowth.
In the mouth it is full-bodied with well-integrated tannins, excellent structure and truly remarkable persistence. Very complex wine with great longevity.

Faithful representation of the terroir and the area, to fully enjoy Montepulciano. At Marianna, enjoy a glass in meditation, in front of the crackling fire of a fireplace.
