It is a pure Merlot, Baffonero of Rocca di Frassinello, an admirable example of how this international grape variety knows how to express itself on Tuscan soil. Muscle and character are not lacking in this impenetrable ruby red, with concentrated and intense aromas of blueberry, blackberry and waving spices, including black pepper, cinnamon and nutmeg. The mouth aromas are consistent, but if possible even more explosive than the nose, with a virile tannic concentration and impressive structure.

Certainly not a wine for weak hearts, pleasing in temperament, power and length. And nothing less could have been expected from Rocca di Frassinello, awinery born from the alliance of two giants of world enology, Castellare di Castellina and Domaines Baron de Rothschild-Lafite. Even the name, Baffonero, expresses all its virility and refers to the vineyard of the same name raised at the foot of the winery designed by Renzo Piano. The wine ferments in steel to mature 14 months in small French oak barrels, plus 12 months in bottle.
