Roberto Voerzio

Roberto Voerzio founded his cellar in 1986 in the heart of the Langhe (La Morra). Starting with an initial 2 hectares, Voerzio has gradually expanded the vineyard, choosing land with care and foresight – in mythical areas for the production of Barolo (Fossati, Sarmassa, Case Nere, Cerequio but also Brunate, La Serra and Rocche dell ‘ Annunziata) – to reach the current 20 hectares.
These acquisitions reflect a very clear and rigorous vision: to produce an excellent wine you must start with excellent grapes, cared for in the vineyard with devotion, with minimally invasive methods and aiming for very low yields.
In the cellar, Roberto Voerzio is a pure non-interventionist: no substance must alter the natural evolution of the wine; fermentation is spontaneous, without the addition of yeasts, and can last up to 30 days in steel tanks. Subsequently the wines (excluding Dolcetto) are refined in wood and are not filtered.
These are wines designed for long ageing: at least five years in the bottle, with the ability to evolve for a long time.
Roberto Voerzio has always lived up to his philosophy in both the vineyard and the cellar, making himself one of the most extraordinary interpreters of the Langhe territory and producing some of the greatest Barolo wines in existence.
