Jacques Selosse

Jacques Selosse is a great name in Champagne, a myth and point of reference for French bubbles and synonymous with excellence. Jacques and his son Anselme began to make wine from their own grapes independently in 1974, when the production of Champagne was exclusive to a few large Maisons, marking a qualitative turning point and an important change, becoming a reference model for all small independent vignerons.
Since 1980 Anselme Selosse has led the production with the project of valorising every single parcel owned by him, giving life to unique and unparalleled Champagnes. Approximately 8 hectares are worked today, almost all Grand Cru: most of Chardonnay in the municipalities of Avize, Cramant, Oger and Pinot Noir in Ay and Ambonnay. The old vineyards, over 50 years old, are cultivated in the most natural and environmentally friendly way possible, and are divided into over 50 plots.
In the cellar every process is strictly manual, without any human intervention, but leaving everything in the hands of nature. Fermentations in barriques without the addition of selected yeasts, with weekly batonnage. At the time of disgorgement, only grape fructose is strictly used for the dosage. These are some of the features that make it unique.
Jacques Selosse’s Champagnes are complex and refined, the result of a philosophy focused on enhancing the terroir. These are extremely personal interpretations. Champagne of rare charm, capable of establishing itself every year as a point of reference for all Champagne enthusiasts.
